Which law governs your health data

Medisage is operated from India and serves Indian families. Our binding legal obligations arise under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"). This notice explains, in plain language, what data we handle, your rights over it, and our duties.

On international standards: we have designed Medisage to healthcare privacy safeguards used internationally — including the principles behind the US HIPAA framework — as a benchmark for handling sensitive health information. We reference those standards to signal the bar we build to. Medisage is not HIPAA-certified, and HIPAA (a US law) does not itself apply to us; where international practice and the DPDP Act differ, the DPDP Act governs.

Beta phase: Medisage is in private beta. Some safeguards below are implemented today and others are planned; each is marked accordingly. We will update this notice as controls ship.
